The
Blood of the Lamb
Hebrews
9:11-15
11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good
things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with
hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of
goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy
Place once for all, having obtained eternal
redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the
ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for
the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of
Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to
God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living
God? 15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new
covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the
first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the
eternal inheritance.
Jesus, we adore You because of who You are. You are the great I AM
that sit above the heavens and earth. Your name is revered because You give
life and take it. The words that You speak breathes life into things that are
dead, not created, unseen and things seen. Your eternal Spirit releases Your
power that moves through eternity into time. You are remarkable and brilliant
and yet some men continue to try to dispel Your name. But You are known in the
heavenlies, earth, seas, hades, and universe.
Oh Lord, we humble our minds and hearts please help us to believe
Your Word. There is wickedness lurking that is trying to plant the seed of
doubt into our minds about the good news of the gospel. The love that You have
for us is beyond our human comprehension. We are not always thinking in the
right frame of mind to say thank You for all the goodness and protection that
You provide to us daily. You shield us from the powers of evil that wants to
destroy our souls.
The Word of God is the written truth of how we must live our lives.
Those of us who fear the Lord will submit to You, God. The scripture John
1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. Jesus,
You created every living being that have life. Because You are Spirit and
eternal and the creator of all things, we humble our hearts and listen. We are
made in Your image and likeness according to Your Word. Our bodies have life
because it is Your breath and blood that flows in us. When You made the earth
and added the light You saw that it was good. Genesis 2:7 And
the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living being.
The light is who You are because You are good. Our freedom to live
in the light comes from You. The Word, light and life is the path that leads us
to everlasting life. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the
way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me. The Spirit of the living God is Omnipotent,
Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnibenevolence working in the light and darkness
that He created. There are many facets of who You are God and we reverence You
according to Your Word, love, power and Spirit. Please help us to be more in
love with You.
The gentleness and kindness that You exhibit to us it means
everything. Sometimes, we sit and cry because we cannot understand why You love
us because You are God. Our finite minds are programmed by our experiences and
the things that we’ve learned good and bad. And still, You continue to show us
mercy and grace. This helps us to turn the pages in Your Word to learn who is
this God that we pray, sing and worship. You are love, I AM, Lamb of God,
Savior, Redeemer, LORD, and deliverer. There are not enough tongues to describe
who You are LORD. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us
a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His
name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace. John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus
coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away
the sin of the world! John 1:36 And looking at Jesus as He walked, he
said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”
Saints, we must behold the Lamb of God who was slain for our sins
and the sin of the world. Our hearts must bow down in humility because it was
the Lamb of God who freed us from the penalty and punishment of our sins with
His blood sacrifice. Jesus gave up His life in our place and took the wrath of
God’s anger toward us by dying for our sins.
We have life and truth because the Word of God became flesh and
walked among the people who were like us sinners. The message of the cross
spread after Christ was crucified. Because the power of the blood was seen
before and after Jesus’ resurrection. John 19:33-35 But when they
came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His
legs. 34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and
immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he who has seen has
testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the
truth, so that you may believe. John 20:26-31 And after eight
days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the
doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to
you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and
look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and
put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28 And
Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to
him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have
believed. Blessed are those who have not seen
and yet have believed.” 30 And truly Jesus did many other
signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this
book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have
life in His name.
Our faith is given to us by God, and we must guard it. It is a
spiritual key that gives us access to the kingdom of God. When we activate our
faith with the Word and speak it over our minds, bodies and souls and the
things that are good and pleasing to God, we will see the manifestations come
to pass. The signs, miracles, and wonders happening in our lives are according
to the Father’s will.
As we grew in our Christian walk we must strive to be like the
precious Lamb of God. His nature is gentle and lowly in heart, forgiving, meek,
kind, long-suffering, love and selfless. Our lives and fruit will reveal that
we are connected to the Vine. Even though our walk is not easy the Lord is
keeping watch over us, and our deeds are being recorded good and evil. The Lord
sees and knows who His sheep are. John 10:27-28 My sheep hear My
voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them
eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out
of My hand.
Christ commands us to love and walk in the light. Let us continue
to pray and forgive one another, so that our blessings and fruit will be abundant.
Every commandment is worthy of our praise to God. He is the light of glory that
illuminates the way to everlasting life. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for
the sin of the world.
When we get weary and tired, we must keep pressing on toward the light
of God. Our steps are covered by the blood, we must not give up. Eternal life
is in the blood of Jesus, and we have His blood and breath breathing in us to
finish our race. Don’t quit believing because we will see the Lamb who was
slain for our sins and live in the new Jerusalem. Revelation 21:22-27 But
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its
temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to
shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The
Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are
saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and
honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by
day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the
glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 But there
shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination
or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
A
Drip of Blood
While I stand at the altar
I
am exhausted by fear
All
my sins to bear
I
am so afraid of confessing
My
heart strayed and disobeyed
During
my darkest hour
I
forgot how to pray
But
I remembered the name
His
name is Jesus
I
heard the news
Stories
about the cross and the Blood
I didn’t have a clue
Lord
I know that I am a sinner
I
stand at the cross for mercy
If
You can hear my thoughts
Redemption
and salvation I petition
I
am heavy laden
I
believe in the Blood of the Lamb
As
pure as the snow I am set free
While
I surrender my guilt and shame
I
beseech a drip to wash away my sins
