Humility
Numbers
12:1-8
1 Then Miriam
and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman
whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman. 2 So
they said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has
He not spoken through us also?” And
the Lord heard it. 3 (Now the man
Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the
face of the earth.) 4 Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron,
and Miriam, “Come out, you three, to the tabernacle of meeting!” So the three
came out. 5 Then the Lord came down in the pillar of cloud
and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam.
And they both went forward. 6 Then He said, “Hear now My words: If
there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to
him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. 7 Not so
with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house.
8 I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark
sayings; And he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not
afraid To speak against My servant Moses?”
As we walk with the Lord our
hearts will become soften to listen to Him. His love and kindness are given to
show us that He is a God of love. We must pray to know Him intimately so that
we will grow to love Him and understand how His love for mankind is
everlasting. He is personally involved in our lives more than we could fathom.
His Word tells us how He loved Israel and the things that He did for them to
prove that there was no other God beside Him. This bond and intimacy that He
shared with them protected them and it is eternal.
Today, this same love and grace
is bestowed upon our lives. His favor is for us to understand His mercies and
benefits toward the righteous. There is a peace that sustains us in everything
that we’ve gone through in life. It follows us and cannot be removed. No matter
what is happening good or bad this peace will never leave us. Our hearts are
open to hearing and listening to the Spirit of the living God. The power of God
fights for us those who have the fear of the Lord in them will not be ashamed.
We belong to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The seasons in our lives will
prepare us for our purpose and missions. There is a work that the Lord has
created each of us to do. This will bring Him the glory and honor because He
put this great purpose in our hearts. We must always pray and seek His
righteousness in which way to go. The journey is a lifetime and there are many
roads to travel to reach the mountain top.
Many of us are being called from
our loving families, great friends, comfortable lifestyles, and successful
living. We’re almost at the top of the
bar where we had plan to be in life with our five- and ten-year plans. Our health
is good, and life just seems wonderful considering how fortunate we may think
we’re not.
And yet, many are called from
different walks of life i.e., broken homes, survivors of domestic violence,
homeless, divorced, jobless, at the bottom of the barrel and some are in the
middle just wandering through life. We only know our pain, humiliation, fear,
disappointments and are at a loss for words.
Day after day we may feel the
shaking in our lives because things are not the same as we had planned and
hoped. Due to the circumstances, we can say that we’ve been robbed of our joy
in living. The tears and hurt seems to never stop reminding us of what we lost.
We set out to do many things in
life without having the wisdom and experience to make good decisions and
therefore, we act off our emotions and we tend to see things one way and have
tunnel vision. But somehow, we must have missed a step or two and did not see
the signs that some things were going to be a trainwreck or it just wasn’t
God’s will for us.
Sometimes, people do see the
warnings, but they choose to ignore them. Because they want what they want, no
matter what the consequences may be. No matter what the case maybe, it was not
our destiny to remain in those places and situations that caused our hurt and
pain. Because God has a different plan and path that we must take. It is
painful when our lives are turned upside down. We do become angry and
frustrated because we only see what we want, and think that is the best there
is for us. But nonetheless, God is working on us during every season of our
lives. We must trust that God knows what is best for us. Jeremiah
29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
We must forgive those who hurt
us so that we will be forgiven. There are many lessons, tests, and trials that
we must overcome. Everything that happens to us is being used for the glory of
God. Romans 8:28-30 And we know that all things work together for
good to those who love God, to those who are the called according
to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also
predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He
might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He
predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He
also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
As humans we tend to do things
according to what we define is right for us. We are looking at the world to
model what we think our lives should be. That is the image that we see for
ourselves and how we plan to live. But inside each of us God has placed a great
purpose, a beautiful blessing that we came to earth to fulfill. This is the
mission that we must find and give away to help and bless others. Proverbs
18:16 A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.
We have no knowledge or
understanding of who we are, nor do we believe that we belong to God almighty.
Many people do not resonate with themselves as being a child of God because
they are asleep and have no conscious awareness of knowing that God is Spirit. John
4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in
spirit and truth.”
Depending
on where many of us are in our journey and walk we must keep in mind the
scriptures. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and
His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew
18:1-4 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is
greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 Then Jesus called a
little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and
said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become
as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of
heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is
the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
As
the Lord reveals to each of us who we are in Christ Jesus, we must decrease and
allow God to increase and walk in love and humility. Let us remember, that it
was God who pulled us from the ashes and the mud when life was hard for us. He
called us to a holy calling so that we would be witnesses for Jesus. Our
testimonies are the hope that people will see whose hearts are blind.
Mercy on Me
I’m doing the best that I can
There are days that I cannot imagine
You let me live so I can tell
How good Your mercy endures
If only you could walk a mile in my shoes, would
you?
Please tell me heavenly Father what must I do
When I pray and meditate on You
Hallelujah Your mercy endures
A day without You Jesus I know I’m defeated
Can’t You see that my pain and life is available to
thee
As I pray to see tomorrow it is not scaring me
Your mercy endures forever
When I’m in doubt I must trust You
There’s nothing on earth to replace Your mercy
My soul is alive, and my love is pure
I’m relying on You Jesus to work it through
My will is to please You
Grant me
Mercy so I can tell others
Your Word is
true
Till I see
Your face I will run this race
