The Fruit
Ezekiel 47:12
12 Along the bank of the river, on
this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for
food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They
will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary.
Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.”
Yesterday’s seeds will be tomorrow’s harvest, Lord willing. We must be vigilant and sober minded about the things we say and do because it will spring forth in our lives. Many of us are treading on fertile ground and have no clue about the blessings that we have been given by God. Our carnal minds cannot perceive it because we have been conditioned to follow our five senses and emotions.
Those of us who love the Lord are His
sheep and hears His voice. His eyes are upon us as we give Him the praise,
glory, and thanksgiving for being our God. His Word is life and spirit as He
speaks to us through the Word. Our worship must be spontaneous morning and
night. There should be a praise on our lips for all the goodness that He
provides to us. Nothing else matters in that moment because our worship must be
His alone.
Our lives are blessed by the power of
God bestowing His grace upon us. This is so evident in our lives because it is
the hope that pushes us along the journey to keep moving forward. The beauty of
grace helps us to appreciate everything that we have and humbles our hearts and
minds to remember that it is God’s divine providence and attribute to shower
us. The Spirit of God is our life and the reason why we give Him our praises.
His beauty beholds how His love for us
is everlasting. The provisions that He shows us by answering our prayers,
sending new mercies every morning, restoring our brokenness, healing us in ways
that we cannot see, emotionally, psychology, mentally, reaching the most inward
parts of us to renew our minds and hearts to believe and trust Him. This is a
joy that springs forth a hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness. Isaiah
55:1-3 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money
for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not
satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your
soul delight itself in abundance. 3 Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of
David.
Our souls must cry out to the living
God of the Holy Bible. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David. They
are our ancestors of the faith and are our cloud of witnesses. We have their
testimonies to encourage us to run our race for Jesus. There are rewards and
eternal life awaiting us. God chose us and our hearts should be full of
gratitude in knowing that we are also a part of God’s kingdom family.
People of God we are connected to the
Vine which is Christ Jesus. We are the branches, and His blood is flowing
through us. We must abide in Him through our faith, love, hope and meditating
on His Word. As we patiently wait on the Lord to reveal His will for our lives,
we must remain steadfast in the Lord. Doing the things that will please Him, so
that our branches will be prune and our fruit will be sweet in the right
season.
No one praises a tree that bears
bitter, overly ripe, bruised, dry and dead fruit. It is so disappointing to see
the same tree again in bloom and the fruit is not good to eat and enjoy because
it doesn’t taste good and there is no pleasure eating from it. Therefore, we
must be careful and not become like this tree appearing to be a believer and
follower of Christ and yet our lives are not bearing godly fruit. Matthew 21:18-22 Now in the
morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. 19 And seeing a
fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and
said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the
fig tree withered away. 20 And when the disciples saw it, they
marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?” 21 So Jesus
answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have
faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig
tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into
the sea,’ it will be done. 22 And whatever things you ask in
prayer, believing, you will receive.”
There will be seasons when our fruit
will be seen in the earth. But we must remain rooted in the Word by studying
and mediating in it daily. Even though that may see difficult to keep up with,
but we must press hard to make the effort because the Word are the seeds that
we’re sowing right now in our lives. When we respond to life’s issues with the
Word, it will yield a harvest blessed by God. Because we’re choosing to follow
the Holy Spirit’s instructions and not lean on our own understanding. Galatians
5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness,
self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And
those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its
passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk
in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another,
envying one another.
When we sincerely give our lives to
Christ, it will produce the fruit of our labors. There are so many lessons to
learn as a Christian to be victorious and endure our race till the end. The
Bible reminds us of who we were before we gave our lives to Christ. Romans
6:17-23 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed
from the heart that form of doctrine to which you
were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you
became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in
human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you
presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of
lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present
your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to
righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which
you are now ashamed? For the end of those
things is death. 22 But now having been set free from
sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and
the end, everlasting life. 23 For the wages of
sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So let us not be deceived by giving
into the desires of our flesh doing the things that will cause us to be thrown
into the fire. We have the Word to help us examine ourselves to be sure of the
things that we should do and not do. John 15:5-8 “I am the vine,
you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears
much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone
does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they
gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are
burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in
you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for
you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much
fruit; so you will be My disciples.
The
Trees
They
stand side by side and sometimes afar
Each
having its own beauty and size
Amazingly
distinctive in appearance
A
tree that stands on good ground
Bears
good and prosperous fruit
It
has the victory to endure and reproduce
Yet
a tree that has weak roots and wavers
Bears
unproductive fruit
The roots are not rooted to withstand life
For
God knew their purpose on earth
He
that is strong and rooted in the Word
Like
a living tree planted by the water
The
fruit of your life will spring forth
If
you should ever grow weak
Stand
firm on the Word of the Lord
