Cling to Me

Cling to Me

 Deuteronomy 30:19-20

19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

Where on earth can we find refuge that lasts forever? Life has so many roads, valleys, storms, sorrows, troubles, uncertainties, and dilemmas. There is no one who is able to weather these different incidences alone. Our souls are frail and there is only so much that we can say and do to try to move through life.  But there is someone who is able to keep us through it all and that is Jesus. Our Lord and savior who died for everyone’s sins.

God has a plan for His people to be united with Him in glory in the new Jerusalem. The promises of God are all yes and amen to those who obey and love Him. Our hearts and minds must lay hold of the promises that are written in the Word of the Lord. Sure, life is not so good at times but that must not deter our hope and trust in the Lord. There are so many wonderful and amazing things that He has done for us. This alone should motivate and inspire us to love Him and pursue a relationship with God who created everything.

Christ is offering us eternal life and forgiveness for our sins. There is nothing too hard for God. He is the one who parted the Red Sea, created the heavens, earth and universe and everything in it. Therefore, we must open our mouths and give Him the glory for being Omnipotent. He cares enough about us to love us and give us His Word. It is the good news of the gospel to reach the lost and draw us to Him.

We must seek to the know Him and follow His ways and righteousness. This is the first step in falling in love with Jesus. Our prayers must be sincere in wanting His will over ours. Because He knows what is best for us because He is our creator. As we humble our minds and ponder about the love God have shown to us by granting us new mercies, favor, grace, restoration, peace, hope, His Word, eternal life, bearing our stripes and infirmities, etc. This let’s us know that it is not all about what we want or need, but all about the love that He has for us. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Psalm 107:1-2 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

We are the redeemed of the Lord and our praise must be heard in the earth. Our testimonies are the evidence of the power of God working in our lives to save us and reveal our light in the world. Our cries and victories were heard from above and the Lord had mercy on us. Sometimes, we tend to forget all about the marvelous things He’s done for us, but we must not forget to obey His Word. Psalm 103:1-4 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

There is a fountain of grace that never runs dry as we call on the name of the Lord. Our souls are the chosen vessels that He pours goodness into for His good pleasure. We have been chosen for honor to bring glory to God and bless His name. Each vessel must carry the oil of gladness, praise, love, thanksgiving, and gratitude everywhere our feet tread. The Spirit of God is within us. God is the Master potter who molds and shapes the clay for His use. 1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

The Word is our daily bread and life to keep our souls filled with an eternal hope about the glory of the Lord. We must eat and drink from the living water as our hearts grow and mature in the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the Word. We will learn that there is no other pasture to find rest, drink, and food for we are Christ’s sheep.

The Holy Spirit is working in our lives to teach, comfort, warn, edify, and exhort us. He feeds us with the Word and helps us to chew what we can digest. Everything that we experience is a part of our testing and learning. We are growing in the Spirit as we obey the Holy Spirit and the Word. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth who the Father sent to be our helper. John 15:26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. Our faith believes and is given to us by God. Therefore, let us accept the Word and trust God.

God is the light that we must run to. We will find Him as we seek to know His Word. The scripture tells us that He is the Word. We must be still and read the Holy Bible and pray to the Father daily. Ask Him to open our minds and shine His light upon the darkness that’s there. Help us to see the light and truth as we surrender all. We must pray and hunger for everlasting life. Open our mouths and ask to be filled with the living water that we are reading about and let it be according to our faith. John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Those of us who are weary in our minds and souls we must go to the rock and stand. Let us cling to the Word of the Lord and remember His mercies and benefits. We must not lean on our own understanding but lean on the Word. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Come to the light and be still as we wait on the Lord to reveal Himself to us. He knows our cries and hearts are thirsty. There He stands at the door of our hearts. He provides green pastures to feed us, and water flows where He sends it. His grace is beautiful and infinite. As we breathe the air that is His grace flowing in us. Let us bow and cling to the one who saves, Jesus.

Word of Truth

I walk by faith because I believe

Words have power

God’s Word reveals His Spirit

I pray to know Him

As my soul and spirit seeks

Righteousness will be added to my life

If you take heed, you will see

The Bread of Life is free

Seek if you will

Up lift My Word and rejoice

As I anoint what you sow

For your reaping will bring forth

An everlasting peace

Never doubt My Word

As I teach you to listen within
