Yet Will I Trust Him

Yet Will I Trust Him

Job 13:13-19

“Hold your peace with me, and let me speak, Then let come on me what may! 14 Why do I take my flesh in my teeth, And put my life in my hands? 15 Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.
Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him. 16 He also shall be my salvation, For a hypocrite could not come before Him. 17 Listen carefully to my speech, And to my declaration with your ears. 18 See now, I have prepared my case, I know that I shall be vindicated. 19 Who is he who will contend with me? If now I hold my tongue, I perish.

Some of us feel as though we know everything or a lot about a vast number of subjects to expound our theories and ideologies, but truthfully who is benefitting from that knowledge when we see others in need, and we politely turn our heads as if they don’t exist. We are all guilty in the eyes of God. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousness’s are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

There is so much to learn about life externally and internally within ourselves. We have been programmed to go to school to become educated. This knowledge is the information that we need to utilize and plan for a better life, to help us figure out how to move around in this world to survive and make a living. However, this learning system is set up to prepare us to learn from Pre-K to PH. D or beyond that level of learning. But this system only focuses on what this world deems as important pertaining to knowledge, data, and the tools to find a career or trade to become employed in other words find work to live. It doesn’t deal with the matters of the heart and the issues of life that flows out of it. Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Okay, now let’s think morally can knowing how to achieve making the Dean’s list help us to learn how to forgive our neighbor?  And yet, adoring our honors, degrees and certificates on the wall teach us to show compassion to a homeless person or inspire us to buy an extra sandwich for someone else when we know that our toast has butter on both sides? Many of us have failed this test, because we have become self-centered in our thinking only about our own good and that is selfishness and pride. 1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

As believers of Christ, we must not conform to this world. Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. The Word of the Lord is our instructions for living here and preparing us for eternal life. Our hearts and minds must change and be renewed through the Word. We must pursue God’s righteousness. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. This is how we enter the kingdom of God by learning how to live right and knowing what to do with this knowledge to please Him. We will gain a new life when we seek His Word and apply it to our lives.

The Word is living and powerful because it is spirit. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The worlds knowledge is not the same as the knowledge of God. The living Word is abiding within us by working on our minds, hearts, and souls to transform us into new creations in Christ. When we become awaken to hearing and pursing the kingdom of God the Holy Spirit makes His presence known to us. Colossians 1:26-27 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

The new life that we are receiving in Christ is preparing us for service to give God the glory. We are becoming a new man with a new spirit as being born again. John 3:5-8 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” The Holy Spirit is changing us into the new man in Christ from the old man who lived like the world and its ways. We were dead to Christ and alive to sin before answering the call of God. Our old thinking and worldly living caused us to be dead to the Spirit and the life of God. We were selfish, self-seeking, idolizing our beauty and other people’s lives, uncaring, no compassion for the poor without being unbiased.

The Lord wants us to be living testimonies that carry a light of truth. He has a purpose for our lives to do good works in His name. He comes to make a home within us when we submit our will and guides us along our paths until our work is finished. There is more after this life, but so many people live for right now, because they are blinded by the powers of darkness and are enslaved to sin.

The gospel is the good news that is being proclaimed all over the globe about Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God and our Savior. Mark 1:1-3 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. 2 As it is written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.” 3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ ” John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Many people are walking around in the world clueless to who they are as sinners and trespassers. Romans 5:18-21 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 2:1-3 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

The Lord is merciful and patient with us. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, The gospel is the good news to compel us to come to Christ. There are many who refuse to hear the messages of Jesus Christ because of their pride, love for the world and are stubborn to hearing the truth. The clock is winding down and the hour is nearer. But the Word of the Lord is prospering and there is a harvest of souls. Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Many people feel defeated after all their labors and toiling in the earth seeking riches, fame and finding no rest. This world is filled with vain glory and fleeting beauty. The powers of darkness are at work through our sinful flesh and ungodly desires. Hebrews 3:12-15 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Today, let us pray and bow our hearts and minds before the Lord. We come before the throne of grace seeking God’s love, forgiveness, righteousness, and salvation. We believe the scriptures are the truth and the living Word of the Lord. Here we stand on one accord as wretched sinners, please Oh Lord save us and blow Your breath of life into us. Holy Spirit set our hearts a blaze with the desire to serve in our callings.

My Calling

 No matter where I turn

In the midst of darkness

I am committed to stand

As I breathe and ponder the journey

My life belongs to God

Here I am Lord

As seasons birth pain, courage and endurance

This earthly walk seems endless

Today yields the fruit of my labor

I am grateful to sing a new song

As my heart feels enchanted

I’ve found the meaning of living

 While I knell to pray

As I talk to God each day

Intimately from my soul

I will trust Him with my life

For His glory will shine upon my face

As I stay on the path that He has called
