   Precious One    

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

What are you laboring for?  The Spirit of the Lord has given us liberty to live our lives in Christ Jesus. The cares of life and the world will always tug away at our time and minds. Haven’t you heard about the good news of the gospel? The bells have been ringing for over 2,000 years. Yes, Jesus is alive. He is calling us to come to Him.

There is another way to live our lives in Christ. We must wake up and listen to the parables and the teachings of Christ. They are the messages that Jesus taught the disciples during His earthly life. As He shared with them about the Kingdom of heaven the people who we’re broken, stressed out, over worked, exhausted, overtaxed and burden came to Him. Even the rich inquired about His messages and the abundant life.

Many of them did not want to go back to their homes or villages because they we’re ready for the new life that Christ spoke about the hope of glory and living in the new Jerusalem. He spoke about how God is love and everyone will love one another, no more pain and afflictions, no taxes and oppression for anyone. This life is the hope that we all should be striving towards as we pray to our heavenly Father. 

Our lives here on the earth is fleeting and is sometimes chaotic from day to day. Many of us are so overwhelmed with worry and feel like our heads are barely above water in debt, commitments, holding on to bad habits, bound by ungodly relationships, drama with ex’s, baby daddy and momma drama, you name it, the list can go on. As long as somebody is willing to listen to our pity party and mess, we are right where the enemy wants us entangled in his web.

Let’s be real with ourselves this is not the peace that Christ promised us nor is this the life of abiding in Him for the protection and peace of mind to continue our journey. Every day somebody is demanding our time, picking an argument, wanting a commitment from us, whether it’s the job, family, bills, stuff from our past that’s not resolved, baggage, etc.

Here’s what Christ is telling us. We are precious to Him, and He loves us. We need to decide today to choose Him and accept His teachings, parables and study His life so that our hearts and minds can be renewed and seek Him and His righteousness. We are like babes needing milk, protection, and rest. While we grow into eating solid food and maturing into a new creation in Christ.

When we make these steps towards Christ, we are now becoming yoked to Him. The previous chaos and stuff that we’ve carried for so many years is becoming less and less our top priority of the day. Jesus is severing the roots and rebuking the evil that Satan used to keep us bound to him.

There are times where we can feel the shift and see the changes in our lives. Hallelujah! The Lord is drawing us closer to Him and giving us the strength to walk into the light where there’s more grace and mercy. This is not a fantasy happening to us we are experiencing the truth in God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 3:16-17 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 

We must continue walking forward towards Jesus and don’t go back to the old things because we will become entangled with the works of darkness. Beware of the enemy’s tactics and cunning ways. He uses people to manipulate and deceive us. These people can sometimes be our family members, close friends, or someone we like or are acquainted with. We must pray for discernment and wisdom so that we will not be caught off guard by the wiles of the enemy.

The enemy is Satan who is God’s adversary and ours too. Satan is a spirit roaming the earth seeking to devour and kill the people of God. He tempts people to do bad things and plays on their hurt, emotions, pain, and brokenness to do evil. Jesus sent us the helper who is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. He reveals to the precious ones what the enemy is doing against us.

The love that Christ pours upon our souls daily is immeasurable to any human love or temporary happiness. His love sustains us and has given us the hope to hold onto our faith. We must abide in Christ and give Him the liberty to teach us the way to everlasting life. 

Now doesn’t this yoke sound lighter than the one we are surrendering to Jesus? Come all if you will and lay your burdens down at the feet of Jesus. Cry if you must and release all your troubles. Let this be the moment you’ve been praying for to know Him and open your heart. He forgave us for our sins before time. Now lay it all down and don’t look back and keep moving towards the finish line. Christ is calling us to enter His rest.
