The
Watchman
Habakkuk
2:1-4
1 I will stand my watch And set myself on the
rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I
am corrected. 2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the
vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the
end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for
it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. 4 “Behold the
proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his
faith.
We must live our lives as the
watchman who watches over the city. He is vigilant and sober minded during the
night and day. The instructions are to blow the trumpet to alert the people of
any intruders, danger, attacks, etc. This position is vital to everyone who
lives in the community and depends on the watchman to do his job. Many lives
could be lost if the watchman does not blow the trumpet. Any potential threat could be the final
warning before destruction. Every report given to the people helps them to
prepare their defense to fight.
Saints, the Lord has given us
His written Word for our instructions for life. We must pray daily to the
Father and obey the Holy Spirit. We are in a spiritual war that is happening in
the spirit realm. Satan is the leader over the kingdom of darkness who is our
adversary and accuser of the brethren. He is God’s enemy and that means he is
ours too. He roams the earth seeking to ruin and devour God’s elect. Hoping to
kill, steal and to destroy our souls. We must study and learn what the
scriptures are warning us about sin and the works of darkness. Because that’s
how Satan lures us into his evil and snares.
It is time to cut out holding on
to the good old days because we are in a fight. It may not look that way in the
natural for some, but do not be deceived. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober,
be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a
roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. When we confess Christ as our Lord
and savior the devil hears it. This is his job to watch us day and night and
plan his attacks because of our faith in Jesus Christ.
Therefore, we must be sober
minded to receive the Word of the Lord. When our flesh is being fed by the lust
of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life we’re being lulled to
sleep. We must wake up and stop being carnal minded and lukewarm. If we’re
tetter tottering with the Word and the world, we’re fully open to all the
attacks against our lives. We must fast and pray without ceasing to hear what
the Holy Spirit is saying to us in this hour.
The Holy Spirit is our spiritual
watchman who we must listen to and obey. The Father sent us the Holy Spirit to
dwell in us after we confessed our belief in Jesus. John 3:16 For
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 15:26
“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the
Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. We
are sealed to Him until the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30 And do
not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of
redemption. He knows and sees everything in the spirit and natural realm. Our
help comes from the Holy Spirit. We must be careful to not grieve Him by
refusing to submit our will, disobeying, and not following Him. Our victories
are in God’s hand and there’s no other way to defeat the devil, but through the
power and Word of the Lord.
The power is God’s, and He
releases it to us when we speak the Word and believe. Many of us do not truly
believe until we’re in the fight. This is a part of our Christian walk to learn
how to use the Word of the Lord against the powers of darkness. Satan is
unrelenting when he goes after God’s chosen ones. That’s why we must learn who
we are and who is our enemy. The real battle is going on in the spirit realm
and those who are born again believe because they are being trained in the Spirit
to be vigilant and watch for the evil one.
Every believer must surrender
their will and submit to the Lord. He is our strong tower and refuge in battle
and our peace in the midst of the storm. The Lord goes before us and makes a
road in the wilderness to guide us to higher ground. Our prayers, cries,
fasting and speaking the Word over our lives help us to fortify our souls for
the battles ahead. The more that we engage in picking up our sword, the Word,
the Holy Spirit will teach us how to use it and give us the victory to win the
fight.
We must fulfill our assignments,
the call and work that is predestined for our lives. There’s much work to be
done as we continue to seek the kingdom of God. Our souls are precious to the
Lord. He has placed His anointings upon us and there are spiritual gifts and
powerful generational blessings on our bloodlines. That is why the enemy wants
to destroy us to cut off our descendants from walking out the will of God on
their lives. These blessings are enormous and it’s God’s will for us to testify
and give Him the praise and glory.
This is the hour to watch and
pray without ceasing before, during and after the trouble comes. Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Many
of the saints have fallen back in love with the world. Their seeking flattery
by emulating the trends and are fascinated by popular personalities who they
admire lifestyles. Yes, many are drunk on the beauty fades and glamour that’s
being advertised across many of the social media platforms. This stuff is
designed to appeal to our five senses, so that we will not be discerning of the
little foxes destroying the vine by allowing our flesh to dictate what we
should believe. We must cast down all the loose living, futile imaginations,
and fantasies that we see the world chasing to be an idol.
If we are offended by the truth,
it means that we’re falling back in love with sin. How are we going to be good
watchmen, if we drink and eat from the same table as the enemy. That is Satan’s
plan to cause confusion, disagreements, and strife between us and make us think
we’re bored from our modest lifestyle that we choose to live because of our
faith. We will never be satisfied nor have peace chasing after the lust of the
flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Because being enslaved to sin
leads to eternal death.
We must examine our own lives,
watch, and pray. The enemy has his eye on us and will do everything to snatch
us away from the shepherd if we are not following Christ. We are the sheep and
the Word of the Lord feeds us daily as we read, study, meditate and apply
scripture to our lives. Saints, wake up the enemy is everywhere we turn in the
world. Ephesians 2:1-3 And you He made alive, who were
dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to
the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the
air, the spirit who now works in the sons of
disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves
in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the
mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. Luke 21:34-36 “But take heed to
yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness,
and cares of this life, and that Day come on you
unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who
dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore,
and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all
these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Time is a precious gift
What
are you doing with your life?
The
deeds that you sow will be revealed
There’s
no need to look back
As
you mature to understand why
You
cannot undo what has been done
Pray
to the Master above
Ask,
seek, and knock to find God
There’s
a calling on your life
Don’t
wait for trouble to find you
Learn
to love and serve
As
you grow your garden will prosper
There
is someone that sees everything
If
you keep your eyes on God
You
will inherit eternal life
Eternal
blessings will come
To
every man that lives
He
who keeps his eyes on God
